Todd Stephens' film "Gypsy 83" (2001) features some a Morrissey and Interlude poster in the background of Clive's room.

See screen capture.

  • Excellent, and a nice adversarial touch with Bob Smith on the Boys Don't Cry poster sitting underneath...

  • Screen shot (Score:2, Funny)

Oh my god, the guy in that screen shot went to my high school. His name is Burkett Turton. That's hilarious.

  • An awful film (Score:1, Interesting)

That screen capture is all anyone will ever need to know about this film (and even that's debatable). It's genuinely awful, and it's the fault of those behind the camera as both of the actors seem fairly capable. It's just that nobody could overcome a scenario and dialogue that bad. What it amounts to is a completely unformed, self-indulgent, self-regarding high school play committed to film.

The plot concerns a Stevie Nicks lip sync/lookalike contest, so unless you want to see a film depicting a universe where Stevie Nicks supersedes Morrissey in the veneration department, you should feel free to miss it. Spend your valuable cinema time catching something by Mike Leigh (so much more in keeping with Morrissey's sensibility, especially Naked or All or Nothing) instead of this shallow waste of time.
