TWO singers from two legendary Manchester acts were picked out as the winners of ManchesterOnline's 2004 music poll by hundreds of our users - Morrissey and Mark Owen.

Former Smiths singer Morrissey capped a knockout year by winning our album of the year poll for his comeback effort You Are The Quarry. Moz edged out competition from former Stone Roses frontman Ian Brown’s latest LP Solarized and decks’n’ double bass duo Fingathing’s Big Red Nebula Band.
