Sunday 31st Oct Halloween - Lyn's Diary

Halloween started off as a 2 hour ride in the bus up to the venue where the KROQ show was to be held. Somewhere out in the Californian desert. We arrived nice and early & saw The Dears sound check, they sounded pretty good.

Mikes wife & baby son came to the show & the baby was in fancy dress, he was dressed up in a lion outfit, such a sweet little boy.
The evening came around before we knew it & then the laughs started......... I have to say that Mozsignor looked very convincing in his priests outfit. The boys however in their Nuns habits were in fits of laughter at first, to wear underpants or not was the big question. Ha ha..........

They went on stage to a huge roar and the crowd seemed to be really in the holiday mood, it was a great show & all enjoyed a great night.

November 12th - hi all, lyn here! Thought I'd fill in some of the diary as the old man's been a bit slow lately! Well I arrived here on 27th Oct I was picked up at Houston (Bush) airport by Jay & his 2 buddies Scott Allen & Maggie from Atlanta. They were great fun & we hung out that evening in an Irish bar down in Houston. Boz showed up early thursday morning banging on my hotel door around 7am with a big bouquet of flowers in a big glass vase, very sweet. It was soon after this fun entrance that we heard the news that Morrissey was ill with this throat problem that has been troubling him on & off for the past few weeks. I was of course disapointed but you can't help being sick so we just made the most of our time in Houston & making the most of it in Boorer style means a few beers some rock'n'roll music & a big tattoo of the virgin Mary on Lyn s back in the hotel room. Scott Allen who came up to Houston for the show just happens to be a great tattoo artiste & had his mobile kit with him so he did his magic, photos to follow. Scott will be working out of New York soon so check him out, he is good!.

Friday 29th we flew to LA and in the evening we went out to El Cids bar to catch up with our old mates Big Sandy,Ashley & the boys, Boz got up with the boys & played a few songs, it was great night.

  • Will this help with the death threats conspiracy theory? As Morrissey says in "Irish Blood, English Heart" - "There is no one on earth I'm afraid of". There may be a stereotype that Texans talk tough about kicking ass, and "don't talk about our President like that", but even if there were a rumor of death threats to cancelling the Houston and Austin show, no dumb ass Texan would waste a bullet on someone they have never heard of, that's not to say that all Texans don't know the true greatness of Morrissey, but it is Willie Nelson country. The Dixie Chicks have played several times without incident, Morrissey would have been no different. Morrissey was ill, cancelled the 2 shows, and had to get on with his tour. UK, he's all yours for the rest of the year and scheduled tour.

  • if lyn boorer had written it, she would have said "a tattoo on MY back" not.. "a tattoo on Lyn's back"

    I suspect Charlie Brown again.

    I scare dead people.
  • Yes it is the same one and if you haven't seen him play you are missing out. Big Sandy opened for Morrissey during the Your Arsenal tour and is one of the best openers Moz has ever had!
