Maladjustedx sends the link to the Boz Boorer tour diary update:

November 9th - hi
Many apologies for being so lax with the diary!
It was hard to get on line in south america...,
So after the Chicago show we drove up to Milwaukee and the show was good. Had a drink after with some nice folks, one of which had my signiture tattooed on her arm. Also memorable for the Red Sox turning around! Then we drove to Detroit for a show and then on to Nashville. The show was at the famous Ryman Auditorium, steeped in country history, a lovely venue, and an honour to play there. Afterwards we ended up in Leyla's bar the blugrass in where me, Eddie Angel , Gaz and young John Baldwin played a half hour rockabilly set. Even Charlie Browne got up and sang a number! Then we drove overnight to Louisville Kentucky, home of the boxer Mohamed Ali. We had a good show at Tyhe palace Theatre, then we drove to Atlanta - we had a day off and spent the evening at Smith's olde Bar playing pool all night, nice to see Strop and his family there, and Sylvain Sylvain came along too. After a long drive we got to Miami, another day off. Had a few drinks with Tom and Joe, then 2 shows at the Jackie Gleason Theatre. Instead of driving to Fort Worth texas, I hopped on a plane the next day and flew where my good buddy Huelyn Duvall picked me up. I spent all day with him , a very pleasurable day off indeed. I managed to lose my glasses at the Fort Worth show and Huelyn informed me he played there in 1958 with eddie cochran!
cheers

  • I liked that. It's intriguing to learn what goes on for the band between the shows, and all that long travelling. I could do with a day off in good, chilled company like that! Is Alain rejoining at some stage, remind me please anybody why he's been absent? Enjoyable read.

  • I bet Charlie Browne sings like Dean Martin.
    Just a feeling I have.

  • If I walked into a bar and saw Boz and Sylvain Sylvain in it I would drop dead on the spot. Why can't the powers that be give me one moment in this life where a positive coincidence is delivered? Not to mention some of the normal yokels probably had no idea at all of the talent in their midst.

  • Just in case you come on here Charlie, wondering if you can help.
Paid for standing ticket for Earls Court last September to some guy on ebay who had excellent feedback. Didn't worry too much about not receiving it yet as most haven't been despatched.
Anyway, checked tonight to get his contact details and find the bastard is no longer a registered member and the feedback since beginning of October is abysmal...obviously a fraudster. All standing tickets are now sold out..can you help me out here...I feel sick.

I know this is ridiculous but don't know what else to try...won't trust ebay again.

  • I like his life. He spends his free time sitting in with rockabilly types the world over and then hops on a plane to play the Ryman with HIM.

    Boz is ace, Moz rules!

  • What a joke. Perhaps Boz should go back to his days when he was in the Polecats. When will he realise Rockabilly is out of date nonsense. It's quite sad.
