According to HMV, this is the tracklisting of the YATQ Platinum Edition CD, released on Monday 8th November.

Note that the FOTGTG clip is taken from The Morrissey DVD 'Who Put The M In Manchester?' - this is the fabled MEN Arena DVD we've all been waiting for, which is released in early December.

Also, Hulmerist & The Malady Lingers On have been released on DVD in one handy set for around £10-13

The track listing for the Platinum edition of You are the Quarry appears to have changed according to hmv.co.uk and 101cdcom where as once we were getting new tracks like Slum Mums and No one can hold a candle to you, we now have just the b sides that we already own and videos! The promised tracks may surface on the I have forgiven Jesus single which has now been put on hmv.co.uk with a 13-12-04 date for release.

As a loyal fan who bought both the standard jewel case and the gatefold/DVD combo when the album was released, I balked at the though of re-buying an album I'd already purchased twice before, for a couple of extra songs.

That being said, this would be a great package for anyone who has thus far sat on the fence re: Morrissey's comeback, as there are a few songs on that bonus disc which are better than anything on the album.

I just hope that "Slum Mums" et.al do see the light of day on the "I have forgiven Jesus" single in a month or so. That seems the fairest solution.

I have spoken for the platinum edition on this very site as i could agree with the re-re-release of YATQ because of the 3 unreleased tracks.

But now i have to second the view i objected before: it's just a rip-off! Not even half a rip-off as we know from 'Greatest Hits' compilations with one or two new tracks which will be released as singles later or at the same time(recently e.g. Travis or Robbie Williams), this is a complete one.

In former times, let's say 1995/1997 i'd be delighted to get a bonus disc full of B-Sides as they weren't released all over the world, or let be precise, here in Germany. This time we do have (due to internet and eBay) all the tracks.

      Sanctuary, no thanks.

        • but it's _not_ cashing in on fan loyalty, because it's not really aimed at "fans" ... it's aimed at people who have been humming and haa-ing about buying the album. The bonus disc with the b-sides is merely a sweetener.

I think that it people were fored to buy an album they already owned for two or three new sounfs unavailable elsewhere, then that would be "cashing in". I have no problem with this release.

  • What the hell is this??? This means that everyone who bought the singles could just have boiught this and still owned them on official release. Ttututut. And also those two dvds were only recently relkeased on dvd for a tenner each and now you can get them both for so cheap??? Tutut Moz. This is not pleasing. Not as bad as that crap special edition Libertines first album though. ALSO.... in a couple of weeks all Pogues albums are being rereleased with bonus tracks. Buy those instead of Moz.

  • It is not a rip-off! People who bought all of the singles need not buy this cd and people who didn't buy the singles can get 9 new songs for a fair price. The new songs (Slum Mums, I'm Playing Easy To Get, Candle) will now feature on the Jesus-single, which is a lot cheaper than the platinum edition!

  • I wouldn't expect a US release considering that it is the "Platinum Edition" and that it has not gone platinum here. It takes 1 million in sales to go platinum in the US, so don't expect anything. Also, a rerelease in the US would not be financially feasible, i wouldn't think, since realistically, only us fans who visit Morrissey sites would even buy it. Probably not worth it for the label to do all that for 20,000 sales.

The setlists these days are way better that at the beginning of this tour. If I have to listen to "Jack the Ripper" or "Hairdresser on Fire" one more time, I will kill myself!

Maybe this is his farewell tour. It all makes sense is some weird way.

  • It's quite nice in a way to have all the b-sides on one disc, which saves you having to fiddle about with the 2 CD formats that were released in the UK, and "Mexico" and "Teenage Dad On His Estate" were only accessible from your DVD player, which is not where I listen to music from.

  • Just to clarify - the extra disc with this release is not DVD, it's an Enhanced CD where the 9 b-sides play as normal on CD player and the 5 video tracks play on a PC or some DVD players. Region issues should not apply.
The DVD is 'Who Put The M in Manchester?', not out until March 2005.

  • What is all the furore about this being a cheesy title, I don't understand? It would appear to me that the M in title is not a reference to the first letter of the city of Manchester (that would be really bloody crass), but that the M in the title is a reference to Morrissey himself and that the title itself prompts the rather amusing and enigmatic question of Who Put Morrissey In Manchester? That's what I read when I see this title and it sort of evokes the question of who put him there, why is/was he here etc, etc. that title is not as straightforward to me as it appears to others. I know most others disagree totally, I suppose the main thing is that we get a DVD of some sort.
