Just a heads up for those who are going to the Toronto Show October 12, 2004.

The Dears are opening up for Morrissey. They are a great Canadian band, they sound allot like Morrissey. Great voice and great lyrics. Be sure to get there early

  • I love the Dears. I'm sure they'll win over some new fans with their performance.

  • Their album is finally being released in the States and the UK this month- finally! It was my favorite album of 2003, no holds barred. If you can't make it to their Toronto gig with Morrissey, I'd encourage you to check out one of their solo gigs.

  • idreamed about this support/headliner bill earlier this year when ihad purchased my copy of the wonderful 'No Cities Left' and had gone to them in concert for the third time.

they are an amazing band and if yuve heard their recordings but hav never seen them live than you only know the half of it. The Dears are one of the best live acts around and will undoubtedly prove to be the perfect compliment to Morrissey [much better than Duran Dur.. imean The Killers].

being huge fans of Moz himself im sure theyll be in top form to perform for this show and icant wait. Viva les Dears!

  • The Dears are simply incredible, but unfortunately, they never ended up recieving the global recognition they so rightfully deserved for their 'No Cities Left' CD. Toronto and Montreal seemed to have been the only two places where they recieved any airplay what-so-ever, and that's just a crying shame. News of them opening for Morrissey is just amazing. They'll surely attract a few new fans and may even leave Morrissey melting, wondering why he's never had them open for him before!

No, it's true, Morrissey and the dears together in toronto... it'll be magical!

  • but alas I am in L.A. and will not be able to attend that Canadian show to see them. And they are really big fans of Morrissey, too, which makes it even cooler. In fact, I am on their mailing list and recieved this e-mail today stating that:

The Dears have been invited to support MORRISSEY in Toronto at the Hummingbird Centre on October 12. Obviously, we've accepted. In fact, we are deeply honoured.

    Yours forever,
    Dears

  • Actually Morrissey should ditch Damien Dempsey for Toronto and have The Organ open up with the Dears.
