I met a guy at Reading festival who'd been one of the sound crew for Morrissey and also on the 2002 tour, he told me that for "Meat is Murder" they'd sampled Johnny Marr's riff from the version he'd played at the Linda McCartney tribute concert a couple of years ago and used it in several concerts which Morrissey was apparently very pleased with. ---

He sang the lyrics as well as playing guitar and it is a good version-not as good as the current Moz version though ;)

nobody would even think for one second that J Marr isn't a great guitarist, but the Meat Is Murder intro is hardly the most difficult riff he's ever come up with... (try Girl Afraid!)
