CNN is reporting that Craig Kilborn is leaving the show on CBS. You have to figure this means less Moz exposure on US television.

Kilborn leaving 'Late, Late Show' - CNN / Reuters

"LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- After five years in late night, Craig Kilborn is exiting as host of CBS' "The Late, Late Show With Craig Kilborn."

A CBS spokesman confirmed late Thursday that Kilborn had informed the network that he would not seek a renewal of his contract, which is believed to expire this year. The spokesman declined to elaborate.

Sources familiar with the situation said the parting was amicable. One source said Kilborn's reps had sought a hefty salary increase for a new contract with CBS, but other sources discounted how much of a factor salary negotiations were in Kilborn's decision to move on.

  • Sad, because as a Texan, I grew up watching cbs. Dan Rather is from Wharton, Texas, Bob Schieffer is from Austin, and Walter Cronkite went to the Univ. of Texas, so it's kinda my home.

And I liked Craig. He talked about Morrissey all the time, even when not to be on his show...

    It's bad.

  • I know alot of people here hated his show but i praise him for all those great Morrissey appearances that he brought us. I also loved his play-by-play on ESPN's Sportscenter, I hope he goes back to be being a sports anchor again.

  • He's embarrassingly awful. I hope I never have to see his ugly mug on the boob tube again.

  • Well if it's going to mean no more Morrissey on t.v. let's all sign a petition to keep him on air!!!

How is this Morrissey related news? So now Kilborn AND Durst made it on a Morrissey site. The man should ask for royalties!!!

Good riddens to poor quality American "entertainment"!!!

  • Can we get some Morrissey or band related news on this site? It's starting to resemble a shitty tabloid paper.

  • The only good thing about Craig's show was that if you couldn't fall asleep that night all you had to do was watch 15 minutes of it and you'd be off to snooze land.

  • Good, nice knowing you, hope the door doesn't hit you on the way out, etc. Maybe they can bring back Craig's predecessor - the good old-fashioned Tom Snyder. Snyder must be in his seventies by now, but hey, he DID get John Lydon on his show twice. And he would actually talk with the guests, instead of making stupid lists. He actually found guests interesting, instead of a springboard for his ego.

  • The show was unwatchable. A test pattern would get better ratings.
As far as Morrissey's exposure to America is concerned, his agents at CAA have their work cut out for them.... That's why they are being paid their 10%.
Late night television is filled with other outlets for Moz.

To bad rubbish! That show was just an awful, awful thing, if you take morrissey out of the picture. in fact that whole station is a disgrace! We all know Conan is the king of the late night anyways, the best since johnny carson.

Toodles Kilborn! Please dont come to NBC...

  • i disagree with people who don't like kilborn. he's the best thing after letterman. jay and conan are out of touch with our age group. they would never have morrissey or the pet shop boys on their show. sure, kilborn probably isn't as hardcore of a fan as we are, but he is a morrissey fan. he pokes fun at morrissey because his show is a comedy show. if it wasn't, i'm sure he would have morrissey on for an entire show once a month. and, kilborn is way funnier when moz isn't on his show. he seems to get nervous when moz is on. maybe craig will go back to espn?
