Tickets go on sale this Saturday at 10am through Ticketmaster for the FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1st & SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2nd 8:00pm shows at Philly's historic Tower Theater. This is a gorgeous old theatre with great sound. They should be excellent shows!

Update: 08/09 20:12 GMT: The Oct. 1 show was on the Ticketmaster site for a brief time and has since ben removed. The CEO of Sanctuary Merck Mercuriadis has posted this in the comments below:

I would normally not post like this but I want to nip this in the bud immediately. We have not confirmed any shows past September and while we have offers to do dates all over the world - including Philadelphia - nothing is confirmed beyond September and there will certainly be no shows going on sale this weekend. When and if we confirm any shows we will let you know. In the meantime I would appreciate it if David would remove this thread in order to avoid further confusion.
Thanks to you all for your support.
Best wishes,
Merck Mercuriadis

  • Here we go now! As the U.S. tour dates begin to trickle down to the fans. Its really exciting how Morrissey loves to tease the fans and doesn't put out the entire tour itinerary. But at the same time, its frustrating. Can't wait for official tour sites for the West Coast. I hope he does a five date stop in Las Vegas!!

  • isn't philly the city that always gets cancelled at the last minute on every tour? or is that pittsburgh. i know it's one of the two. good luck to you PA fans!

  • I guess one has to check ticket sites nearly every hour. I checked Ticketmaster.com only a couple of hours ago as I write this and it had said no dates scheduled for Morrissey...and now there is one for "01 Oct" listed. I didn't see anything about "02 Oct".

  • just noticed that ticketmaster removed this show from their listings. doesn't necessarily mean it's not happening - tm does this occasionally when they post a show too early...hope it's true - the tower theater is a lovely old theater - in upper darby, pa - holds 3500...

  • Why don't you stay home and let the East Coasters enjoy this one. Stupid L.A. crashed the Chicago gig so hardly any locals could attend. Aren't the 10 shows a year in your area enough.

  • Get yourself and your artist a decent website and put an end to the half-baked attempt you are currently using. Poor management for so many reasons.

  • Morrissey-solo has provided me with accurate info about gigs for years now. Sure, sometimes there may be a false start, but most fans who post here are not making their information up; a reliable source (i.e. band member, employee of venue) has given them the info.

If I sat around and waited for "official" news, there would be strong possibilities of missing out on shows that sell out in minutes! That, indeed, almost happened to me earlier this year as I did not find out about the pre-sale tickets until I visited this web site just moments after the sale started! Sorry Sancuary, but I'll trust Morrissey-solo (warts and all) for the most current up to the minute Morrissey news over your too little, too late "official" news anyday!

  • With Philadelphia being so close to Camden, New Jersey, might we hear a special rendition of "Come Back to Camden" on either of these nights?
