The NEW YORK DAILY NEWS reviewer (Jim Farber) was there tonight (TUESDAY). His review likely will be in THURSDAY's paper (trust me, i know).

The famously sullen singer performed with an exaggerated sense of camp, making this the most animated performance I've seen him give.
Backed by a five-man band, he awarded his songs an over-the-top theatrical grandeur, countering the rock roar of old.
