I received the following submission 10 days ago on March 13, but no source or contact was given and I didn't think there would be shows a month before the album release so I thought it was a BS submission.

mas writes:

Mr. Moz will play in L.A. @ the Wiltern on the 3rd week of april.

  • "...I told you so"
Just curious as to how many Indie listeners are trying to win tix from the World Famous KROQ for this fabulous event, Moz in Manchester, thats fucken big. Well good luck to all, being caller 20 is as hard as winning the lottery, and also be nice to the phone screeners, they are there to help you, not put up with the abuse from psycho Morrissey fans. You all know who you are.

Don't call and ask when the tix will be given away, or to just pass them this way for a couple of bucks, contest's are given away 100% fairly, Im sure you would want it that way. So just stay tuned in and listen for the Actual que to call in, not just a commercial or a Joq talking about the giveaway. Good Luck and see ya at the Wiltern.

  • Is this really a good idea?

If he intends to debut the Quarry tracks in April, you can be certain that someone will manage to record the show and make the tracks available for download.

I know that the quality of any such recording will not be as good as on the album...but quite frankly anything that detracts from potential sales is a bad thing. Especially if it leads to Moz being ditched by Sanctuary followed by another seven-year hiatus. I haven't seen any mention of the deal being for 'x' number of albums...

  • That is very true about him debuting the new material before the actual album release date. Remember back in 95 when he was supposed to play the Grand Olympic Theater in L.A. Tickets went on sale it was announce on Kroq and then all off a sudden the show was canceled. Can it be that his manager is just announcing dates and not confirming with Morrissey?

  • What is the Wiltern like now? I have not been there since B&S in 2001, and it's set up different now I think. There used to be seats on the main floor, with a tiny pit area. Fromthe looks of the seating charts I have seen now, it looks like the whole main floor is GA now. Is that correct? They used to do shows there GA, but saeted GA, which kinda sucked. They would let like, the first few people in line into the pit, which was the size of a restroom.

This is my pet peeve, folks. Who the hell nominated these PC types to regulate what used to be Free Speech? The internet is about the only place where people can speak openly and honestly and I happen to find it refreshing as hell. I see "homophobic" remarks every day on the net--big frikkin deal. You oughtta hear what I say to the ultra right wing breeder types! HA! I would never be so arrogant, however, to tell them what words they can or cannot say.

Man this whole subject burns my ass. This PC crap is not making things better for minorities like us--it causes resentment and more hatred. By banning certain words you make it impossible to discuss certain topics HONESTLY so how do two groups ever communicate with each other and get to know each other?

So some people on this site don't like gay people? Tough crap. Big Deal. If you are so emotionally fragile that you feel the need to control other people's speech maybe you should toughen up a little. I've learned the hard way that phony liberal types are far less trustworthy than conservatives--at least conservatives are honest and you can deal with it.
