Matthew Muñoz sends the news from the Billboard Bulletin, Feb. 20, 2004:

CAA Signs Morrissey
Morrissey has signed with Creative Artists Agency. At deadline, there was no official word of a tour in the works. The reclusive rocker last played U.S. dates in 2002 as part of the Revolucion tour, which paired him with Latin rockers Jaguares. On that outing, Morrissey was booked by Marsha Vlasic at MVO Ltd.

Morrissey will release a new studio album, “You Are the Quarry,” May 18 on Sanctuary.

  • A tour. Better get on the phones now so that I can get standing tickets this time. Save room at the front for me!

  • For someone not part of the system, he certainly has signed with the agency at the core of the bowels. Tsk Tsk Moz... shame on you.

  • Can anyone please explain what exactly is the C.a.a., and its purpose?

C.A.A. is the biggest, most influential talent agency in Hollywood. Or it was, particularly in the 80s and 90s when its leader Mike Ovitz garnered lots and lots of press attention. I believe, however, it is still the predominate agency.

Its purpose: making Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman fall in love.

  • It's true, the CAA is the Canadian version of the AAA. Moz is scared to run his car into the ditch again and not have emergency extraction services. Wasn't there a story out there when Moz had a tire blowout while driving through the Southern US with Boz and Gary. They eventually waited for a passer-by to change the tire.......while they were having iced tea at a place called Bimbo Hot Dog.
