In the January 15-February 12 (Enero 15-Febrero 12) issue of "al borde," there's an interview with Mikel Erentxun (he's on the cover), where he mentions Morrissey. The part about Morrissey is as follows: (Sorry my Spanish is too rusty to translate this)

WITH MORRISEY (sic) To the AIM. We are in it. I am not wanted to make many illusions, because Morrisey (sic) is a person very occupied, a dificil person to treat. Then, we are treating and I yes wait for qu, is a dream that I have been long time persecuting and perhaps now this more close than ever. It has come to see me more of once, we have been chatting much short while and have spoken to collaborate and siepre has said to me that yes. But, soon when one is going away to do as in this disc, in the end he very was occupied and he could not be. For that reason, I am not wanted to do many ilusíones... but I am going it to try because estaria best. If it got to pass, a new song serious and would tend an English part sung in, serious both sung in languages.

  • With Morrissey to the end

We are with him. I don't want to raise false illusions because Morrissey is a very busy man, somebody who is hard to speak to [literally, hard to deal with]. Therefore we are trying and I do hope it will happen, [for] it is a dream that I've been trying to fulfill for a long time and perhaps now it's closer than ever.
He's come to see me more than once, we have been talking and we have been talking about collaboration and he has always said yes. However, "when the time came to make things real" [not sure about it] he was too busy and it could not be done. For this reason I don't want to create illusions about it, but I'm going to try because it would be very good [if it happened]. If it ever comes true, it will be a new song and a part of it will be sung in English, it will be sung in both languages.

  • Hey 'Anonymous'...

Which language did you get Google to translate it into, exactly?

  • I know Mikel Erentxun quite well, as he's got a semi-star status here, in Spain; he's always tried to emulate somekind of Brithish attittude on his recordings, not getting along, anyway. I mean, despite his attempts of creating a British sound on his records, his songs are quite boring.

He has recorded a few covers of Morrissey and the Smiths songs, with spanish' lyrics, such as "There's a light that never goes out" and "Everyday is like Sunday". The lyrics he wrote in Spanish for those brilliant pieces were really a shame, but you can check them if you're interested in ridiculous Morrissey impersonators around the world.
