Morrisseys home is shown in Saturdays episode of Sherlock Holmes. The story is The Norwood builder and Morrissey was living there at the time it was being filmed which was around the time of Bona Drag.

  • Wasn't Oujia Board shot at Hook End Manor??? I thought Moz was still living in Chelsea in those days.

Morrissey stated this himself.I think I heard it on Cemetery Gates web site about a fortnight ago.
I am correct in what I say.He mentions Granada TV actually used his house to film one episode which included a fire upstairs. As I have read Sherlock Holmes I know this to be the case of "The Norwood Builder".The reply came after being asked Do yopu read Sherlock Holmes?.

  • This can't be right as this episode of Sherlock Holmes was filmed in 1984. I have this one on DVD and it's from the 1st Jeremy Brett series made in 1984, so that would put Morrissey in the early days of The Smiths and not at the time of Bona Drag (1990-ish). Are you sure it's this "Sherlock Holmes" episode and not a later one?

  • I have Morrissey on tape somewhere talking about how his house was used for an episode of Sherlock Holmes - that it is actually just the upstairs (or the attic, I can't remember). He also, during the same interview, taught the American reporter how to make British Tea. Then he said while laughing, "I can't believe I'm telling you this..." After that, he said, "you just pour the tea all over yourself."

  • The Norwood Builder certainly sounds like the episode Morrissey talks about: fire in the attic and all; however, The Clitheroe Kid is right when he says that this episode of the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes was an early one: it was originally shown in the UK in September 1985.

Perhaps it isn't that episode; perhaps it isn't the one with Jeremy Brett.
