Hey this is from Tami Heidi's music news on KROQ for Wed. 9/10/03 "what do Gwen and Tony of No Doubt, Ian and Billy of the Cult, John Taylor of Duran Duran, Mike Dirnt of Green Day, MORRISSEY, and Bow Wow Wow's Annabella Lwin have in common? They were all at Saturdays' Sex Pistols concert at the Greek". I only joined this site to post this info cause no one had, I was shocked. Anywayz if I hear anything I'll keep ya posted.

"The Sex Pistols' Johnny Rotten announced humbly, 'The queen is dead - all hail the king,' referring of course to himself, in front of a crowd that included onetime dead-queen-documenter Morrissey."

  • Sorry, not really my g-g-generation, that band. Aren't those people getting a bit, hm, ...old, to, hm, you know?

Really, had I known you were that bored, I would have invited you to my birthday dinner party.

It is a very mixed blessing to be brought back from the dead.
  • Morrissey being the avid rockabilly fan that he is, wonder what he thought of opening act Reverend Horton Heat?

I'm glad Morrissey was in attendance, it shows he really does have an understanding of pop culture and the truly "important" artists...like Cilla Black!

In all seriousness I am a huge fan of the Pistols...they were just so, so...well, perfect. "Never Mind The Bollocks..." is one of the greatest albums of all time, for me anyway. It still seems vibrant, angry and dangerous even now.

The Pistols were a band who changed things...they were at the forefront of a cultural revolution...punk really mattered and the Pistols were the embodiment of the punk aesthetic, at least here in the UK.

Of course they were simply McLarens very own "New York Dolls" to begin with and they were all style over content for many but I still get a shiver down my spine when I hear "Bodies" and every time I see footage of Lydon I am just blown away by how perfect he looks.

I know that they weren't as important in the States where you had the equally perfect joys if your own much more musical punk scene...the Dead Boys, Iggy, Ramones, New York Dolls and the heaven on earth that must have been CBGB's...but for me they are one of the greatest bands of all time.

Morrissey went to see Rock Bitch "perform" once way back in the mid-Nineties. Not that any of you lot would know it, of course.

I attended the Sex Pistols show at Winterland (their official last show before their break-up), and never ever thought - at the time - that PUNK would live on and become what it is to-day. I could not bring myself to go to their Filthy Lucre Tour a few years back, nor can I bring myself to see them at The Warfield here in San Francisco...those memories from 1978 are priceless, and it is how I'd like to remember the Sex Pistols. I'll never forget when Sidney Vicious strode by within in mere inches from where I stood in line to see the Winterland show. He seemed very interested in seeing who all was showing up; my friend and I were there at least 5 hours before the doors opened in order to be right down in the front. Back then the audience consisted of only a small group of the first dyed-in-the-wool PUNKS compared to those who are no doubt showing up for the current Sex Pistols shows...I really could have never guessed this would continue into the future, and it is a bit hard to explain unless you there in those days when it was all new and fresh. I still do enjoy Lydon's interviews, though...he is ever true to himself and his beliefs - and still has his rapier wit about him!
