Don't know how new this news is but Morrissey is listed in a music industry database (subscription only) as being signed with Lookout Management in Santa Monica. This database is very reliable - I use it for my job booking concerts in Buffalo, NY.

I don't how long they have been his managers but this is their whole roster of clients...

  • Have you seen his manager's other clients? You never here of any of them doing anything? When did you last here anything about Finlay Quaye?

Poor management and marketing have hindered the success of his last 3 albums (at least). Is it going to happen all over again?

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say 'WE ALL HOPE NOT!!!'

    The Beta Band are excellent
    Spiritualized are beyond reproach
Zwan are...oh dear! It all falls apart a bit here!

    Sorry.

  • Elliot Roberts managed Morrissey prior to the Oye Estaban tour, then got dumped. Liner notes for the Eels' "Daisies of the Galaxy" (2000) say "Managed by Elliot Roberts for Lookout Management". If Elliot's part of Lookout, and Elliot once managed Moz, it seems unlikely Lookout gets faxes from Morrissey in '03.

  • Whatever one might think of Billy Corgan and his band, I must remark that at the last trip to the newsstand I saw Zwan on no less than three magazine covers and featured elsewhere in numerous other magazines. Someone is promoting them and they have no small task...

For Billy Corgan does have a reputation that may seem, erm, a little familiar... miserable, egoist, aloof, etc. And Zwan is supposed to be beyond that stage. Did you see the way Mr. Corgan smiled throughout their Letterman set? It's hard not to see some comparisons with the 'new' LA Moz - singing about Mexican gangsters, joking with the crowd, looking relaxed and happy on late night TV, driving his scooter about. Maybe this is his chance to leave the Manchester/miserable tag behind for good?

I'm only suggesting that he might not be in terrible hands after all. All remains to be seen, naturally.

    Love, Finn

  • This is fantastic! This is one of the finest management outfits going. They are sure to bring Morrissey back to the heights of fame he achieved with Southpaw & Maladjusted! The only downside is that we may not be able to see him live in the small & intimate venues. Thats ok because I will be happy to see the Moz back on top!

  • Hmm, I know that Morrissey once said, that in ten years time he hopes he doesn't sit around like Neil Young and write songs about how healthy he is... But I still think it's kinda cool that Neil Young and Morrissey share the same management - and Zwan too. Billy Corgan is not an American Morrissey but he is sort of an American outsider.. Neil Young, Morrissey and Billy Corgan are all people of paradoxes... Take Moz: he sings England for the English - and he's not a racist. Neil Young: has consumed a whole lot of drugs in his life - and he supported Ronald Reagans presidency in the 80's.

    I love these guys!
