  • Sounds interesting. I'll definitely be picking up a copy.

No. I didn't enjoy "The Wrong Boy" either. I gave up about half-way through...in truth I don't know how I got that far. i much preferred Douglas Couplands book "Girlfriend in a Coma".

          • Willy Russell's book was the most fun i've had reading in about 7 years. i finished this one in about two weeks when most other books i own have been half-read and have stayed that way for years. i've found it increasingly hard to identify with fiction novels, but Willy's is just one of those things that you have to have been in that situation where life is falling on you like a ton of bricks.

i could be wrong about the mark spitz book, but it looks like it needs a good pair of shoes as it looks a bit pedestrian.

  • Hmmm… can't say that I was bowled over reading those bits of How Soon Is Never? Difficult to get through and too much of a period piece to be really interesting. I happen to know all the (band) names being dropped, but that doesn't make it a good book.
Plus points for namedropping the Velvet Underground — but then again, many points subducted for the namedrop being about one of their tritest, most conventional songs, one which our sweet Jane would never have listened to, I guess.

  • Currently reading the fifth Harry Potter book and it is soooo good!!! I know it's not really relevant to Moz but thought I'd share and I really liked Willy Russel's The Wrong Boy
