Maybe you heard it already, but the Russian pseudo-lesbian duo t.A.T.u. covers "How Soon Is Now" on their English language LP coming out next month in the US. The version I heard was very demo, and sounds like a couple of Russian chicks singing "How Soon is Now?" in English. The backing music doesn't stray far from the original but has the effect of Muzak. Wonder if this was an attempt at gay street credibility?

  • That is about as bad as Shakira doing "Girlfriend In A Coma".

Russian Lesibian Pop Duo... a new level of manufactured music.

What has the world come to?

  • I read here about 200 articles a year about
artist covering a Smiths or Morrissey nmbr,
and the only one who benefits from those are
    Morrissey or Morrissey/Marr.

Well he still needs the money, for all those court/lawyer/liar cases.I don't mind
    my man earning those extra's.

I can't believe those bands/artists do it as
a matter of paying their respect or inspiration
because after all the musicbiz is all about money.

Or do those artists/bands earn money for release
    a cover of a Morrissey/Smiths song?

  • I know this lot. Their latest single is getting a lot of airplay here in the north-western hemisphere. It's really worrying stuff. At the risk of sounding racist, I never cared much for Russian anything - let alone Russian lesbian duos. Mind you, Raskalnikov is without a shadow of a doubt one of literature's finest creations.
