I was just looking at the Craig Kilborn site and find it very weird that for as long as he has been trying to get Morrissey on the show, he is not listed for September 12th. There are 2 other guests but no sign of Moz. Does anyone know what's happening with this? I would think if he was confirmed, Kilborn's site would be raving about it.

Torr Leonard writes:

Is it supposed to be some surprise or something that Moz is gonna be on Kilborn? Cause the site just says:

Thursday, September 12
Tom Green (Stealing Harvard)
Comic Bob Marley

I don't know if this was mentioned yet, but the other night on The Craig Kilborn show, he was interviewing that semi-journalist from MTV Serena Aultchul (or however her name is spelled) and Craig was telling her about how much "juice" or power he has. And he said that he's got so much power he's getting Bowie and Morrissey in the coming weeks. And Serena was like 'yeah! Bowie, but why Morrissey!?', to which Craig got a bit angered and was telling her how much he loves Morrissey!! He went on for a bit about how wrong she was, but I cant remeber it all, I'm sure someone else out there saw this! I'm sure you guys heard this already, but just in case. I thought it was pretty funny!

Actually, the last two weeks have been reruns. The show with Serena Altschul was from around that time when Kilborn was making pleas for both Moz and Bowie to come on. While Kilborn talks about how great Morrissey is, Altschul doesn't get it. She was like "I know who he is but why him??" You know, the reaction of someone who thinks his last release was 'some song after that one about ignoring and the closer I get'. She then says that she likes 'old Morrissey', to which Kilborn asks who in the crowd likes Morrissey. 'Craiggers' then changes the subject by asking her what musical guest she would want if she had her own show. They even re-ran that episode that was mentioned here not too long ago where his crew talked about what Moz's music means to them.
Kilborn is setting the stage by reruning those episodes, that way, people will get a better idea on who Morrissey is and why Thursday is such a big deal. They're just waiting out till tonight's show to announce something.

  • ...didn't they completely over-reserve tickets to this show? Isn't there a situation where a lot of people, most of whom reserved tickets over the internet, are not going to be able to attend because the show simply won't be able to accomodate all the people who tried to reserve tickets? This information came to light on August 28, at this site: Craig Kilborn taping - ticket update posted by davidt on Wednesday August 28 2002, @07:00PM Javier Obregon writes: "I called On Camera Audiences to verify all the information about the Craig Kilborn Taping on Sept. 12 and it looks like they've overbooked the show threefold. I spoke to one of their representatives ho told me that they weren't exactly sure how they ere going to handle this particular situation as of yet, but did tell me that approximately 90% of the people who reserved seats online were going to get an "I'm Sorry" email stating they could not accommodate them. He also added that they were going to meet in 2 weeks to discuss the specifics of the audience dilemma... as the show draws closer." --- oh_chit also writes: "I just spoke to the guy at CBS and he told me that normally 30-50 people sign up for tickets and on that day 600 people have signed up for tickets! So forget about the tickets you have printed out they're no good. He said that they are going to have to change plans maybe to have it outside or something."
Given this particular set of circumstances, why on Earth would they continue to promote Morrissey as being on the show? I mean, even in Entertainment Weekly, you know the section toward the back that highlights the coming week's night time talk guests? Well, there was no mention of Morrissey there, either, but I was hardly alarmed. I'm sure they're trying to figure out how the hell they're going to turn away a lot of the fans that already do know about it. I'll worry about why Morrissey wasn't on the show on Friday at about 1:30am, because I'll know for sure then that he wasn't.

  • I would be pissed if Morrissey didn't show up, in fact I think the moz fans that do go and if Moz doesn't show up should start a ruckess by chanting his name out loud Moooorrissey Moooorrissey Morrissey Morrissey Moooorrissey Mooorissey. To let them know that the people want the Moz man.

  • I'm worried about the wildly unfunny Tom Green being in the same studio with Morrissey. He's so very desperate to be funny, who knows what he'll pull. His past stunts indicate a preference for using dead animal parts to gross out his victims and/or audience. Let's hope he doesn't try it with Morrissey.

*sigh* Anyway, I bet he'll be on. It isn't like him to say something about it if he didn't mean it.

And, to Sereana or whatever: why NOT Morrissey? He's the fucking greatest! Who did YOU have in mind? Axl Rose??

  • Morrissey Tours says he defintely will be showing up for Craig's Show. She writes: "Morrissey will be on Craig Kilborn this Thursday, performing a new song as well as an interview. I'm very excited to add that they will record another song as well for broadcast on Friday's show."

  • i wonder if they're taping a show on the 11th? if so, i would prefer him to be on that show (currently TBA) than on the 12th with Green (whom i despise) & Marley. Craig said previously that Morrissey would be the lead guest of his show. there wouldn't be enough airtime for a proper interview & performance(s) if there are 2 other guests on Morrissey's show.

  • He will be on the NIGHT of the 12th and the NIGHT of the 13th. The reason the rockontv.com site says the 13th and 14th is because the show airs after midnight making it technically the 13th and 14th.

And just for kicks, I'll add that the episode of SNL with Moz will be rerun on the 17th on Comedy Central.

FAMOUS WHEN published, in other words, WHEN DEAD.
  • Heh, did you see the part where Kilborn was askin Snoop if he ever heard of Morrissey? How funny is that? I was kinda freakin out wondering if I should get tickets for the show on friday or not. I mean, I was at the pauly pavilion show on the second leg of kill uncle and I saw him play the queen is dead in claremont. This would be the 6th time I'd see Moz live. I guess seeing him on tv will be good enough and I can do something else with that money. Kilborn definatly said Thursday, did he say friday too? Anyone remember when Morrissey played the tonight show with Johnny Carson? Who else ever played two songs on that show?
