A rather dodgy bunch of American punish rockers currently on tour in the UK called Rival Schools had to choose their favourite 10 songs to be included on a compilation tape, for NME. One of their songs they chose was 'I Know It's Over' by The Smiths. They said something like it's impossible not to moved by this song and that the Smiths appealed to the miserable and dyfunctional. He also claimed that the Smiths were very emo. Underneath was a nice picture of the band.

And to say that their music apeals to the disfunctional is not only a grose generelisation but also utterly ridiculous because it's ignoring the humour with which Moz always writes and has written.

What I don't understand is when a few people get all high and mighty about somebody saying they like the work of Moz. So what!!
Maybe some kids who enjoy Rival schools will get into the Smiths and Moz because somebody they like has mentioned them in an interview.
Come on, you are all turning into your parents who used to mock you for dressing differently and listening to a man who had a tree growing out of his arse.
