Any Smiths fans in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area might want to head down the the legendary First Avenue nightclub (the one from "Purple Rain") on Wednesday, January 30th for the 6th Annual Cover Song Contest. Local indie rockers Unbelievable Jolly Machine will be performing a set of Smiths covers with ex-Housebreaker guitarist Brian Herb filling in on lead vox. The set list will include Bigmouth Strikes Again, Panic, Handsome Devil, and some other Smiths favorites. Unbelievable Jolly Machine plays at 9:10, so get down there early. Also playing is Touch and Go recording artists Arcwelder, who are will be featured in the upcoming All Tomorrow's Parties festival in England. They won last year with a set of Electric Light Orchestra covers. (Yikes!) Here's the show information...
