  • No, there´s no fun at all.

Cause I wasn´t there and still I was in the same town.

Stupid stipid KB, too small this time. Gaah.

Amazingly different atmosphere compared to the gig at Vega last night! Even though the laidback concert in Copenhagen allowed me to concentrate on the performance I really preferred being squezed in with 700 extatic Moz fans at KB in Malmö! People were dancing and singing along to every single song and I had the feeling that the band appreciated the devotion the audience.
Morrissey didn't do that much talking between the songs but seemed to be in a good mode. Some quotes:

    - So you swedes are supposed to be really depressed and to kill yourself a lot. Well, in England we have other people to do that for us... (Followed by Jack the Ripper)

    - I mentioned the Eurovision Song Contest before. We have actually been chosen to represent England... with this song... (Followed by Meat is Murder!)

    - You don't know the lyrics to this song. And neither do I... It's called First of the gang to die. (Everyone cheers) But, you dont know it! (Everyone screams: Yes we do!)

    - If you've read the music press lately you may have noticed that (Someone shouts: The world is full of crashing bores) Am I that obvious..?

    After presenting the band:
    - And my name is Sven; I'm Irish blood, English heart.

And the sound was so much better than in Copenhagen: you could here every word Morrissey was singing!
    Great night. Thanks KB!!

  • An amazing evening, with probably the best audience ever!!! Morrissey seemed SO PLEASED and exited that almost the whole audience knew the words to every single song, including all the new ones. He was giggling to himself all the time, and seemed to appreciate the fanaticism in the audience...

since it was a very small place it was so personal and so perfect!!!

    He entered with:
'Hello to the art and deco people of Malmö'

    And finished:
'Don't forget Oscar Wilde, Johnny Thunders, Nico, Klaus Nomi and don't forget me. I love you'

Well, fill in the gaps, please.

  • The concert was very good , the guys and Morrissey seemed a little more loosen than in Copenhagen ,probably not that jetlagged, the difference was that the crowd in Copenhagen went very crazy and jumpy and went mad at everything Morrissey did, it was only 750 people in Malmo so that made a difference it was more intimate and consistent in a way. They came out quite late they started playing 10:20, front rows enchanted very well the new lyrics , think the enthusiasm was much more at the front rows than at the back though it was a very small venue-bar? swedish behaved very decent not that pushy ..
but of course there were a lot of people that came from Copenhagen and he pointed at that too.
It was very very funny when he said his name was Sven -hahahhahaha- and it was quite unexpected and witty when he said: don't forget Klaus Nomi! gee!

The guys from Sack are actually very good too, they're good openers, good show all in all.

  • I'm still speechless.
I suppose this is as close as an atheist like me could ever get to a religious experience.
Malmö may very well be "the seaside town that they forgot to close down", but last night, it was paradise.

  • This was by far the best thing I have ever seen. I'm still totally speachless. He was in real good mood and communicated a lot with us in the first row and I got to shout some things that he actually replied to.... :)
Anyone got a bootleg of this? I've gotta have one.

    A Slight Case of Overcombing
  • Moz gets confronted about his favorisation of Julia Riley. He handeled it pretty well. He really tries to reach all of us.

Moz'-Julia where are you?...ah, there you are, always the nicest face.'
-What about the rest of us? We love you just as much...
    Moz'-well, thank you'
'I try to get to all of you, but I'm failing...obviously.'

Moz:-Julia, they are terribly nice, aren't they?
-What about the rest of us?
Moz:-I was just talking about you...oh..bla bla bla'

  • I'm still desperately trying to find and buy recordings of the Malmö and Stockholm shows last week. Anyone know anything of such recordings, PLEASE drop me a line or two.
    Cheers

    P.S
Jag har förstått att någon filmade konserten också. Detta är givetvis också av högsta intresse!
